The County of Santa Cruz Planning Department, recognizing that many local organizations and individuals would like more time to give feedback on the Economic Vitality Strategy (EVS), has extended the feedback end date to August 15, 2014. It was previously set at July 7.

The Board of Supervisors is tentatively considering the final draft of the Economic Vitality Strategy on August 19, 2014.

As well, the Planning Department has launched an Open Town Hall related to the EVS. The public is invited to subscribe for updates, and register in order to post comments. The Open Town Hall is run by Peak Democracy, a non-partisan company whose mission is to broaden civic engagement and build public trust in government.

Barbara Mason, County Economic Development Coordinator, released this statement today:

The County of Santa Cruz Planning Department has launched an Open Town Hall on its homepage related to the Economic Vitality Strategy.  The community is invited to comment on three questions relating to economic vitality in Santa Cruz County.  In addition, at the request of several community groups, the date to respond to the document itself has been extended from July 7th to August 15th.  Community members can access the draft Economic Vitality Strategy and the Open Town Hall at http://www.sccoplanning.com/PlanningHome/EconomicDevelopment/EconomicVitalityStrategy.aspx
