Jim Johnson, principal at the Santa Cruz Compensation Depot has analyzed 2013 employment data to compare the compensation in Santa Cruz to that in Silicon Valley. Johnson’s study, reported in this week’s Santa Cruz Tech Beat reflects wages for comparable job categories to be generally higher over the hill than in Santa Cruz. In part this is a reflection of significantly larger employers and, perhaps, more narrowly specialized talent.
