Local Aromas inventor Jay Hurley was picked to feature his programmable social robots, Droidles, on a new show that premiered last week on the Science Channel, All-American Makers. Jay and his son, Frank (age 12), presented Droidles on the second episode of the series titled “Fight Night” that aired Wednesday, January 28.
Droidles, the Social Network of Robots, is the first ever connected network of autonomous robots that evolve together. This patent-pending technology from Jay’s company, Hurley Research, allows the Droidles to communicate, share code with each other and evolve new programs, all wirelessly over the internet. They are remote-controlled and programmable by smartphone or tablet using Bluetooth 4.0. Watch “All About Droidles” below.
