UCSC welcomes participants from academia, industry, and the local community to participate.
The local community is invited to attend an afternoon of data science with industrial and academic speakers, a panel on how industry and academia can collaborate on data science, a Q&A session with Netflix, topped off by a poster session for networking and socializing.

Keynote speaker Professor Michael I. Jordan of UC Berkley will talk on Computational Thinking, Inferential Thinking and “Big Data”
Special guests Reed Hastings, CEO of Netflix and Caitlin Smallwood, VP Science and Algorithms at Netflix, will hold a Q&A session.
A Data Science Panel on “New Models for Collaboration Between Industry and Academia for Data Science” will feature panelists from Looker, Adobe, National Science Foundation, and Rod Beckstrom Group.
