Iris says:
I’m talking today with Jacob Martinez, founder of Digital Nest in Watsonville California. Jacob’s vision is providing tech training, resources and a safe place to gather for 800+ low-income youth. In the agriculture economy of Watsonville, access to the knowledge that is driving Silicon Valley (just 1 hour away) has been traditionally unavailable to children of farm workers and other low-wage jobs. Jacob changed all that when he founded the not for profit, free service that serves the Watsonville youth, age 12-24. We will talk about Jacob’s reasons for founding the Nest, the impact it’s making on the lives of members and his plans to open more Nests in impoverished communities.
